Fusion RF

Non-invasive skin tightening procedure

The Fusion RF works by producing heat, attaining temperatures of 60-702°C, in the dermis and adipose tissue (fat tissue), while the epidermis is maintained at a temperature of 39-42°C, so as to prevent any epidermal burns.

The high temperatures cause a number of effects to occur in the skin, as a result of the thermal damage that is induced:

• Fibroblasts are stimulated to produce more collagen and elastin.
Longitudinal and vertical retraction of collagen fibers (that causes a lifting effect).

These two effects in turn, result in the thickening of the papillary dermis and the epidermis. Increase in the blood and lymphatic circulation, increasing the metabolism of the cells by bringing more oxygen and removing waste products

IPL/ND-YAG Laser

Photorejuvenation

A narrow beam of light/laser is absorbed into the skin and it is transformed into heat. The heat then stimulates the body’s own natural processes to form new collagen and elastin. Thus, it improves skin tone and texture, lifts and hydrates the skin and evens out pigmentation. It makes skin firmer and smoother, reducing lines and wrinkles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fusion RF

Q What can Fusion RF energy treat?
A Fusion RF is primarily used to treat skin laxity by facial and body skin tightening, excess fat and cellulite and is best suited to patients with mild to moderate sagging of facial or body tissues, usually those in their mid thirties to fifties, with any skin colour.

Q What should patients do before treatment?
A They should try to avoid doing anything that may irritate the skin, immediately before treatment. This includes sunbathing (natural or artificial). It should be avoided to treat someone who has sun burn, as they would be more likely to suffer pain from the addition heat on already damaged skin; however an established tan would be fine. Some women find that their skin is more sensitive right before and during their menstrual cycle so if a woman is treated, should be taken into consideration that this may affect pain threshold.

Q How many treatments are required?
A Immediately following the treatment, the skin will feel tighter, with more tightening improvements appearing gradually over the weeks after treatment.
Results can last up to a couple of years, and a single initial treatment can be enough to produce results in some people, depending on skin thickness; however during consultation a course of treatments specific to patient’s need will be assessed.

Q Does it have any down time?
A Some people experience mild redness immediately following treatment (similar to a sunburnt look), but this usually disappears quickly. People find that they can return to work and normal activities immediately after treatment.

Q Does it hurt and what are the potential complications?
A As the Fusion treatment is carried out, deep heating sensations will be experienced every time the RF energy is delivered to the skin and underlying tissue. The Fusion handpiece is chilled before, during and after the RF burst, to protect the skin from the heating, and make the treatment more comfortable.
As each person's pain tolerance and threshold varies, it is difficult to quantify how uncomfortable the treatment may be. It also depends on the power settings for the treatment that can be adjusted to suit patient’s comfort. The most frequently side effects of treatment with RF energy are mild swelling, redness, and in very rare occasions, blisters on the treated area, which typically disappear in a few days.

Q What should patients do after treatment?
A No special care is needed after treatment although some of the following may be suggested:

• Light application of a moisturizer, protective formulations (Renlive Cosmeceuticals) to the treatment area and to suit individual's skin type may be suggested;
• cool, moisturising mists (Pure Water) may be applied as necessary;
In the case that clients are on the fat dissolving program then they should drink 2L of water per day, to help with fat excretion.

Q Who should not undergo this procedure?
A Healthy people without any skin diseases or infections in the area to be treated can safely undergo the Fusion procedure.

People with sensory disturbance to the skin may not be considered good candidates as this could make the reporting of discomfort during the procedure unreliable, leading to potential harm.
Although there is no evidence that this treatment is harmful for pregnant women, you would generally be advised to wait until after you have given birth before embarking upon a course of treatment.
More importantly, people with electrical devices e.g., pacemakers, or metal implants e.g., artificial metal hip joints, heart valves or dental plates, cannot be treated because RF current flowing through the body may interfere with these devices or heat up metal implants, which could be dangerous.

Q Why the treatment is considered so effective?
A A number of studies through the world, published in consumer and medical periodicals have proven the benefits of Radiofrequency procedure for skin tightening and fat dissolving.

Q Is the treatment painful?
A Treatment with Fusion RF is considered a mildly uncomfortable procedure.

Q What are Fusion RF safety features?
A Fusion RF is a CE marked device and is certified from ISO 9001 and EN 2000

Q What clinical investigations have been carried out and what are the results?
A Clinical investigations started in 2000 in USA, and demonstrate that radiofrequency is safe, effective and easy to use. The heat delivered into the skin, which is always constant means that the treatment is progressive, controllable and consistent in its results.

Q What are the advantages of Fusion RF over other types of skin rejuvenation procedure?
A

Skin ablation with lasers for example, can be highly aggressive and can produce permanent skin sensitivity.  They may also require total anesthesia. Fusion RF is currently the only system able to guarantee progressive results without side effects, particularly unpleasant sensation or downtime.

Q What is the procedure time according to different areas?
A The Fusion RF technology increases treatment speed: approximately 30 minutes are needed to treat a full face and neck. This is due to the larger RF tip feature. When treating the body, length of the session vary from 20 to 40 minutes.

Q Is Fusion RF effective on any skin type?
A Fusion RF makes a lasting difference on any skin type of any age as the therapist can adjust the treatment to the individual skin.

Q What is Photo facial Technology?
A Photo facial Technology is a new and unique aesthetic procedure. Using a series of full-face Calibrated Pulsed Light/Laser treatments, redness of the skin and flushing of the face, neck and chest can be successfully treated. In addition, treatment improves the visible signs of skin ageing, acne and rosacea by reducing fine wrinkles, enlarged pores, open capillaries and irregular pigmentation.

Q How can be determined individual suitability to the treatment?
A Through an accurate skin analysis will be evaluated suitability to the treatment and full explanation of the procedure will be given. Currently, Photo facial Technology is the latest, most exciting and effective procedure to treat the visible signs of acne and rosacea. Most clients can immediately stop using antibiotics and medicated creams.

Q What is the treatment like?
A Photo facial Technology consists of five, thirty to forty five minutes, treatments spaced three weeks apart. Calibrated Pulsed Light/Laser is flashed along the skin of the face, and in some instances, neck and chest. Clients describe the sensation as feeling like the snap of a rubber band.

Q When clients will I be able to return to normal activities?
A Clients experience no down time. However, it may be needed to apply ice pack on the treated area for at least 20 minutes or longer after treatment. This reduces redness and swelling. In most instances, normal activities can be resumed immediately.

Q What kind of results can be expected?
A In a recent study, using specific setting parameters, clients experienced overall improvement in most of the case. Greatest improvements were also seen in facial flushing, facial redness, open capillaries, irregular pigmentation and fine wrinkles.
In addition, skin texture and pore size was improved. Treatments were tolerated with no client down time.
Hands:
Brown spots on the hands are treated very successfully with X-Light Calibrated Pulsed Light. X-Light hand-piece is passed along the surface of the skin on the hands. Pigment is shattered at the cell level and then flakes off within a week

Q Is it associated with any risks or side effects?
A Microneedling therapy has none of the common risks and offers all of the advantages of the most invasive, expensive treatments. There are needles of different sizes based on the area that is going to be treated but is upto the practitioner to choose which size of needle to be used. Even if a deeper needle than required is used, the damage will be minimal and fades away within a few days.

Q Are there any clinical studies that prove the results?
A Yes, there are and the clinical studies have shown that the mesotherapeutic effect outperforms all ablative treatments such as chemical peels, dermabrasion, CO2 laser and Fraxel, in terms of delivering smoother skin and a loner lasting effect.
